Hi there and welcome!
I’m Ruth Zimmerman (the kids call me “Mrs. Z”)! I like to refer to myself as “The Farmer’s Wife,” having been married to my sweet farmer man for over 30 years! I’m a mother of five and now a grandmother too! They’re my treasures!
We raised pumpkins for over 20 years and absolutely LOVED welcoming guests to Hickory Creek Farms every fall for pumpkin picking and fun fall activities. I love teaching kids about farm and country living!
This Farmer’s Wife is getting older and feeling the need to use the brain cells more and the muscles less. I’ve done a complete flip-flop and turned to teaching through writing, videos, and speaking to groups! Check out my YouTube Channel: “Born in a Barn”.
What fun writing children’s books to teach kids valuable life lessons! Many of them are based on real-life experiences on the farm! Who says an old dog can’t learn new tricks?!
